Remove one disk from the Ubuntu vm and it as the secondary of another Ubuntu vm and check which mount is there. Ensure the SCSI controller is same for other VM.

Yes for snapshots there is a limit. Please refer kb 1012384. Snapshots cannot be taken on rdm in physical mode.
